Company Description:

Founded in 1985, our mission is: Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville brings people together to build homes, community and hope through housing solutions of homeownership, community development and home repair. Since our inception, we have built or renovated over 608 homes in Jefferson and Oldham counties. Over 2,350 people, including 1,700 children, are now living in safe, affordable homes.

In 2016, Habitat launched the Love Your Neighborhood Program, a holistic approach to creating change in neighborhoods that have the greatest need for stability. The program focuses on community development and home repair in underserved neighborhoods. In 2019, critical home repair was added to Habitats' Community Development and Repair (CDR) program to strengthen our ability to revitalize neighborhoods, eliminate sub-standard housing, and preserve affordable housing solutions for low-income homeowners, especially within the targeted West Louisville Neighborhoods. Outreach, education classes and DIY workshops focus on engaging area residents with the goal of providing a catalyst for future resident investment in the neighborhood.

Our Hikes Point ReStore at 4044 Taylorsville Road is a home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home goods, building materials and more. Proceeds from sales provide funds to build Habitat homes in the greater Louisville community. ReStore is open Tuesday--Saturday, 10 a.m.--6 p.m.
