Landscape – Planning Time!
In the Louisville area, we have taken a brutal beating with the recent wind and ice storms.  Once all the debris has been removed you may feel overwhelmed with the damage done to your trees and shrubs.  All is not lost.  First consider appropriate pruning which may allow your trees and shrubs to recover just fine.  If pruning does not remedy the problem, you may need to reassess your landscape and consider a landscape renovation.  A professionally drawn plan can help you visualize your renewed outdoor living space.

Turf – Jump Start For Spring!
Springtime in Kentucky is spectacular!  What’s not to love about the lush green grass of Kentucky?  But, what if your lawn was destroyed from the recent storms?  How can you help?
Where damage has occurred, try raking and spot seeding.  Be sure not to apply pre-emergent to any seeded areas.  Follow seeding with a light starter fertilizer to ensure that only the beautiful grass you’re hoping for takes root and not pesky weeds.  Let your lawn be the envy of the street!

Landscape Lighting – Spring Time Tune Up!
Days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer.  Now is a great time to walk around your lawn and review your lighting system.  In ground lights should be wiped clean of fall and winter debris.  Bulbs may need to be replaced and timers should be reset to follow the longer days.  What about the plants that have grown during the last season, are they blocking the lights?  Either trimming plants or repositioning lights can improve your enjoyment for the coming season.

Ornamental Plant and Tree Care!
You’ve made the investment in landscaping and want to protect that investment through the spring.  How do you do that?  The appropriate plant and tree care applications can make all the difference.

During early spring the applications commonly made are:
•Liquid Fertilizer – Injection  applied to evergreen trees and shrubs to stimulate root growth, bloom and plant vigor
•Time Release Fertilizer  applied to ground cover and perennials to promote growth and plant vigor throughout the growing season
•Insecticide Injection  applied to small trees and shrubs to control insects within leaves and branches

Trust your plant and tree care to a properly licensed applicator for the best treatment of your investment.   That individual will be able to guide you in proper care and treatment of your landscaping which will extend the enjoyment of your outdoor space.  You’ll be glad you did!
